Friday at 7.30pm signalled eyes down for the Hoole Bowling Club Bingo fundraiser. Organised in the main part by Carole Ingham and Anne Brogden, the night saw 10 games of bingo played by around 50 people, 5 rounds of ‘Play Your Cards Right’ and a generous raffle, all played out in the main hall at The Venue.
The night was tense, with the numbers being called thick and fast by Claire from the Poppy Lounge, which even lead to the odd false claim of ‘House!’ by those eager to win prizes of vouchers, cash and bottles.
Very kind donations from those attending also saw around 50 bottles being given as raffle pries at the end of the evening.
The event was a huge success, and on behalf of the bowling club, at the end of the night, Carole and Anne thanked everyone who donated prizes to the bingo event or to the raffle, Claire for giving up her time to call the bingo numbers, and Sam for running the bar. Big thanks also went to the local businesses who very kindly donated vouchers as prizes:

- Style Council Hairdressers, Walmer Bridge
- Spar Walmer Bridge
- The Dolphin Inn
Club chairman, Peter Carr, also echoed the same thanks to everyone who turned out to support our club, again mentioning our generous local sponsors and the staff at the Venue.
In total, we raised a massive £576, which will go towards the running of the club and maintenance of the green, to benefit all members and visitors to the green.
