Barchester’s charitable foundation recently awarded Hoole Village Hall Bowling Club with funds towards the purchase of some new equipment. This generous funding will allow bowling at Hoole to be even more accessible for older people and encourage them to get out and get involved. One of the types of equipment purchased allows those who find it hard to bend down to pick up their bowls, jack and mat much easier, which will be a great aid to many.
Dovedale Court, part of the Barchester Healthcare group, brought a few residents to the green for coffee and biscuits, and presented our Chairman Peter Carr, and Treasurer, Gail Cafferkey, with a giant cheque. The visitors enjoyed watching some bowling and had a fun afternoon out.

The care home staff commented, “What a fantastic bowling club with a great friendly atmosphere, we’ve already been asked to come back next year when the weather cheers up.”
We look forward to welcoming them again, and perhaps the weather will be kind enough to allow a few of the residents to have a go on the green! Thanks once again for the generous donation.
