For anyone who might not realise, we’ve been operating without one of the floodlight units for a few months now. A new unit was ordered earlier in the season, but after attempting to put it up, the replacement was also found to be faulty! But the good news is that thanks to a team effort, we now have a full set of working lights again.
A big thank you goes out to the following people:
- Andy Slinger, for the use of his tractor and cherry picker, not to mention taking time out of his busy farming duties at this time of year.
- Gail Cafferkey for her persistence in getting a replacement lamp free of charge as it was only just within its warranty period.
- Gail’s dad (David Dickinson) for testing the new lamp and for the electrical installation 9 metres in the air, not bad for someone who is 85!
- Paul Cafferkey for also getting up in the air and holding the heavy unit in place while it was being attached.
We can only hope the other units don’t fail any time soon and we have to repeat this difficult task!
