This week, the Preston & District league games were concluded for the 2025 season. After the last match, Hoole Village Hall team captain, Dave Rostron, presented the Gerry Flaherty shield to Andrew Hill (pictured).
The shield was originally presented by Gerry’s brother, Bernard, for use by the Hoole Village Hall team in memory of his brother Gerry who died in 2007. The two were always keen to encourage new membership and envisaged it being presented to the most promising newcomer who also makes a great all round contribution to the club.
Dave Rostron noted how much of a team player Andrew is, always willing to mark a card or measure an end, and has been a great addition to the team this year. Well done Andrew for being awarded the shield!
