2023 Eastwood Cup Results

Today’s Eastwood Cup was characterised by an extremely high standard of bowling and a great social atmosphere. A short period of rain threatened to dampen spirits early on but this soon passed and conditions only improved as the day went on, with sunshine prevalent for the final few games.

In the main competition, the top prize was fought between John Medcalf and Phil Dagnall. End after end of jack-shadowing bowls gave an exciting final, with John taking the overall title eventually. And in the plate competition, Irene Ormesher continued her winning streak by defeating Mike Slinger in another close-fought final of extremely high quality bowling. Congratulations and thanks to all participants for your crowd-pleasing efforts!

Pictured below are Club President, Geoff Blamire presenting first prize and trophy to John Medcalf, and also congratulating Irene Ormesher on her plate competition win. Many thanks go to Geoff Eastwood who donated the fantastic prize of a slow cooker for this year’s main competition prize. His father, Mr R. Eastwood was Club President in 1961 and 1962.

Well done to everyone who took part or helped behind the scenes, this was a truly great start to the club competition season!
